How Choosing Change Is Different

Most people come to therapy expecting a checklist.

A list of what's wrong. A plan to fix it.

That's not what this is.

Think of me as a soundboard and a mirror.

Not someone who hands you answers. Someone who helps you find your own.

This is a relationship-first space.

The work happens between us — not just inside a technique or a worksheet.

Trust is where change actually lives.

Trauma is anything that exceeds a person's ability to cope.

It doesn't have to look dramatic. A scolding. A door closed too many times. A love that came with conditions.

It still counts.

Your patterns make sense.

They were learned somewhere, by someone who needed to survive. Your presenting issues are a result of things that have happened — not blame on you.

Emotions are there for a reason.

We observe them without judgment — without putting a good or bad label on them.

We get curious, not critical.

No two people start in the same place.

No two circumstances are the same.

There is no standard timeline here.

I'll be honest with you upfront:

it gets worse before it gets better — almost like a side effect of therapy.

That's not failure. That's how we grow.

I'm Aditi, a psychologist based in Delhi.

Not here to hand you a diagnosis. Here to sit with you in it.

You can borrow hope from me until yours comes back.

And that's how we go ahead.
